How to make a birthday invitation with AI

4 min read

An invitation needs five things: who, what, when, where and how to reply. Give an AI those five and it can lay them out as well as a template, with the advantage that changing anything is one sentence, not twenty minutes in a design tool.

The request

Write it the way you would tell a friend. This is enough:

Create a birthday invitation for Sara turning 7, Saturday 25 October at 4 pm,
at our home, 12 Garden Road. RSVP to Amna on 0300 1234567. Pink and gold.

In Chatular the reply is the finished picture. Text is set exactly as you wrote it, which matters for names and phone numbers; the AI is not allowed to improve them. Anything you leave out, such as the address, appears on the image in [square brackets] so you can see what is missing before you send it.

Change it by talking

You do not start over. Reply with the change and you get the whole image again:

  • "Make it blue instead of pink."
  • "Add: please bring swimming clothes."
  • "Use a playful font for her name."
  • "Make it square so I can post it on Instagram."

Your language, your script

Ask in Urdu, Arabic, Hindi or any other language and the invitation is written in that language and script, right to left where it should be. "Shadi card banao" works as well as a full English sentence. Mixed is fine too: an English layout with the names in Urdu.

The right size

For WhatsApp, a tall card (4:5 or 9:16) fills the phone screen. For Instagram, square. For printing, ask for a poster size. Chatular's Social post and Poster cards under the message box start at those shapes, and a size chip inside the design space switches between them.

Download and send

Click the download icon on the picture for a PNG at full resolution; on the phone app it opens the share sheet. The share icon makes a public link to that reply if you would rather send a link than a file.

The full list of what it can design, from certificates to menus, is on the designs page; the docs cover the details.
