An AI side panel beside any web page

Install Chatular for Chrome from the Chrome Web Store and the AI sits beside whatever you are reading. Ask about the article, pull out the key points, translate a selection, or have it write the reply and type it into Gmail, WhatsApp Web or a form for you.

The page as context

Install Chatular: Your page AI from the Chrome Web Store. Press the toolbar icon or Alt + Shift + C and the panel opens. Click Use this page to send the article's title, address and main text with your question. Chatular asks for access one site at a time, the first time you use it there, and never reads a page on its own.

Right-click to act

Select text and right-click: Ask, Summarise, Explain, Translate or Draft a reply. Right-click a text box for Write here with Chatular: the draft comes back as a card with Insert into page, which types it into that field. Right-click an image to ask about it. In the address bar, type ask, a space, then your question.

One account everywhere

Chats started in Chrome are saved to the same account as chatular.ai, and Continue on chatular.ai opens the same conversation in the web app. Sign-in is an API key from Settings › API; one key works in Chrome, VS Code and the terminal.

Questions

Does it read my pages in the background?
No. It reads a page only when you click Use this page or use a right-click action, and only on sites you have allowed. The page text is sent with your question and is not kept in your history.
Where is my key stored?
In Chrome's local extension storage on that computer only; it is never synced, and it is sent only to the Chatular API over HTTPS.
Is it free?
Yes. It uses your Chatular account, which is free while in beta.
Which browsers?
Chrome and other browsers that install Chrome Web Store extensions, such as Edge and Brave.
