Private mode
Private mode is for a conversation you don't want to keep. Click the private mode button (a hat and glasses) next to New chat in the top bar. A fresh chat opens with Private chat written over the composer, and the button stays dark while private mode is on.
- A private chat is not saved to History and does not appear in History on any device.
- It is deleted when you leave it: New chat, the Chatular logo, opening another conversation, or clicking that button again to turn private mode off.
- If you just close the tab or the app, it is deleted 24 hours after your last message.
- A private chat cannot be shared, so the Share button is hidden while one is open.
Everything else works as usual: attachments, voice input, files, designs and photos. A file or picture you want to keep has to be downloaded before you leave the chat.
Good to know: a private chat is deleted the same way as a conversation you delete yourself. It leaves your account at once and is permanently erased within 30 days, together with the files made in it.
